Thom was a great friend of mine in the 90s while we both worked for Tower Records in Harvard Square, Cambridge MA. He was goth and very knowledgeable of goth music, industrial music and weird music of all kinds on the rock/popular music side of the fence. I was unfamiliar with that music at the time and I learned from him about a lot of interesting musicians. Thom played on two of my projects, Expansions and Free Trance Ensemble, and was the first person I played with who used noise generation with objects and traditional instruments. We also made a 40 minute movie about pointy toed shoes (Are You Pointy? – see below) which we played during the seating time at the 3 performances of Expansions.
