Jim is a drummer who goes way back with Evil Clown regular Michael Caglianone (woodwinds). They played for years in a band called Zen Bastards. He came to see Leap of Faith a few months back at the Lilypad and Michael and I invited him to come down for a session with Neurodivergent.

Jim is busy, and is one of the members of the roster that I invite often, but who mostly has conflicts and can’t make the sessions. However, he is enthusiastic when he does, so I keep inviting him. Sergio Bellotti, another drummer in the roster who is on the Berklee faculty, mentioned the last time he was here that Jim was going to be the president of Berklee… I wondered if this was the same Jim??? Today, I got email from our old drummer Yuri Zbitnov with the announcement image on the left which shows it is true…

A very interesting development, since I felt that my approach to improvisation was not well received at Berklee when I was there in the early 90s… I valued my time there and I learned what I wanted to learn, but I take a certain pride in recruiting the president of Berklee to the Evil Clown Roster over 30 years later… Jim is a great drummer and he is welcome here at Evil Clown as often as he can make it…
