Bio

Raqib was an important mentor of mine when I first showed up on the Boston scene to attend the Berklee School of Music. He was amazing tenor player and introduced me to the musette. I played with him in his big band and in his trio Cosmocentric for 6 or 7 years in the 90s. I frequently recorded performances that I participated in, and after his passing I spoke with his brother who gave me permission to put the recordings I had into the world. Raqib would have wanted his music to be heard.
