Bio: Kevin Dacey
Bio
Kevin Dacey is a percussionist and performer based out of Boston. He graduated Magne Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance. There he studied the art of drum set and orchestral playing with Fred Buda and Jeff Fischer. He was also granted the opportunity to be the principle percussionist for the University Wind Ensemble under the direction of David Martins and the principle percussionist for the University Concert Band under the direction of Dan Lutz. Outside of college, Kevin has played extensively with a plethora of ensembles including The Concord Orchestra, The New England Philharmonic, The Plum Island Pans, and more. Dacey is also heavily invested in sound experimentation and improvisation. He can be seen around Massachusetts playing with various performance artists wielding strange electroacoustic setups with groups such as Chill City Icon, Bleep Blop Electroacoustic Ensemble, or Ensemble Inedit. He currently teaches private percussion lessons at Zach Field Drum Studios in Newburyport, MA.
