Bio
Sergio Bellotti is a highly accomplished drummer, educator, and clinician with a passion for music that has taken him to the world stage. With a background in Italy and a move to Boston in 1995, he has established himself as a versatile and gifted artist.
Throughout his career, Sergio has had the privilege of playing with some of the world’s top musicians, including Grammy-nominated artist Joe Louis Walker. He has also recorded or shared the stage with notable musicians such as Mike Stern, Tom Scott, Alessandra Belloni, Nathan East, Robben Ford, Bernard Purdie, and Rocco Ventrella, among others.
As a bandleader, Sergio has co-led the groups Spajazzy, Panodruma, and WeJazzUp. He has co-led Spajazzy with guitarist Mike Stern on two albums. He is also currently the drummer for the “From Fellini to Tarantino” project led by Vince Tempera, a renowned composer and musical director.
Sergio’s performances have taken him to international festivals such as the Montreal Drum Fest, Bari In Jazz, Cape Breton Drum Fest, Pasic, several editions of the Kosa International drum festival and the Blue Note Off series in Milano Italy. He has also won awards for his work, including the “Best Soundtrack” award at the International Film Festival dei Tulipani di Seta Nera for his soundtrack for the short movie “Il Vecchio e il Muro”.
In addition to his performing career, Sergio is also a respected educator and clinician. He is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches drumming and percussion. He is also the founder and owner of 247drums, a store that specializes in drums and percussion, offering sales and lessons. At 247drums, Sergio offers private drum lessons and group workshops, helping students of all levels to improve their skills and develop their own unique style.
